Hiring a Bouncy Castle Inflatable or Soft Play- Things to know

Bouncy castles are a wonderful addition to any celebratory event. They offer real "wow" and "fun" factor and help get a party started. Perfect for children.

Due to the nature of a bouncy castle and the events they are most normally found at, it is vital that safety considerations are taken seriously and set in place before the big event. In the case of children their safety is paramount. Thankfully, there are a number of easy to follow safety tips that ensure safe usage all of which have been outlined in this guide.

When considering booking a party and hiring one of our inflatables, It would be great if you arrange to start your party after 12 noon as delivery is between 8am and before 12 noon, we try to get every booking out as quickly as possible, but we can not guarantee we can get to you before this time. Delivery routes are set on the evening before your hire date and sent over to delivery, the driver has to follow the route. Everyone would love their inflatable at the earliest of times, so to be fair that everyone has the same amount of hire time, 1st set ups are first collections. If you would like your inflatable later collection, it is best to book over night hire. Hall bookings are best to start party anytime after 12 noon, we can then set up and collect at times required for the venue. Venues, we set up at Times to suit you if in a venue. Please leave me a note of times you get the room and the time the event starts and ends.

How much space is available at the location ? this is assist with the size of inflatable you can have. Always remember that an inflatable requires anchor weights and a blower to run the unit. These also need space alongside the actual inflatable.

SAFETY TIPS

  • Location is important, it must be a flat even ground with room for people to get on and off comfortably. Somewhere that the inflatable can be anchored to the ground, stakes if it is grass or thunderbolts in on hardstand or sand bags, or even both. Make sure that there is space so there is no trip hazard by the anchor weights cables blower or generator if you have no power supply.. You will also have safety mats. YOU MUST NEVER MOVE THE INFLATABLE WHEN WE HAVE SET IT UP. moving it could mean tat it becomes unstable, and this in turn puts the risk of the blower coming dislodged.
  • We will require a power point for our Electric waterproof extension cables.

Supervision

  • Supervision is always required, and must be monitored by a responsible adult at all times. The role should ensure that not too many people are on the inflatable at any one time. It is advised to have set in place a limit to the number of people on the castle at any given time. Perhaps provide other items, toys or activities to occupy those not using the inflatable.   • Ensure that the participant are engaging in the rules for safe usage of the inflatables.
  • Watch the belongings of those enjoying the inflatable.
  • Stop adults and children using the inflatable at the same time as this is unsafe. Even if extra care is taken, the weight of an adult could severely harm a small child if a collision occurs. Also if its not an adult bouncy castle it will damage the inflatable.
  • Stop unruly behavior that could cause an injury before it becomes too serious.
  • It is also a wise idea that the person who is placed in this role avoids : - Being tired - Drinking Alcoholic beverages - Take on the role then leave inflatable unattended.

The Weather

  • Always keep an eye on the weather. Too much wind or water can present safety hazards making the activity unsafe for all users. If the weather is very bad, we will need to cancel your hire for safety reasons. In very windy weather it is best to deflate the inflatable this will prevent further use. In Rain please do no turn off the power as it will fill with water, but please refrain from using it until the rain stops, then dry with towel to make sure it is not wet or too slippy to use.

  • It may be wet, but also the wind speed and wind gust's may be an issue. If light rain and no wind you may still be able to hire your inflatable if you so wish, you will just need to take more care and supervise at all times, Towels are recommended for feet and base of castle.

    We may not be able to fulfill your booking with us this weekend, due to guidance issued by HSE and governing bodies, in the interest of safety for the children using the inflatable.

    This is not a decision taken lightly and is only done so to ensure no child is injured with an inflatable, that is not secure in winds higher than 24mph.

Clothing

  • Please do not wear shoes on the inflatables, this is to prevent any other people getting injured, or damaging the inflatable. It is also advised to wear appropriate clothing and remove any jewellery. This is to protect both the wearer and fellow participants and the inflatable itself.
  • Always ensure the blower that blows up the inflatable is safely out of reach of all children and guests and not tampered with at any time.

Collections

If you are wanting late collection after 6pm, it may be best to book overnight hire. Terms and Conditions

Hard standing

On hard standing, for safety reasons we will use sand bags or we do use thunderbolts, where possible, these will leave a small hole the size of a pencil, although no damage will accrue, we will not be responsible for any further damage this may cause. If you don't want this, please let us down as soon as possible, if in a venue please make sure you have permission from the owners. There is an extra charge for hard-standing.

Astro Turf is classed as Hardstand, there is an extra charge,

Bouncy castles and inflatables are a fun and enjoyable activity at any special event, however it is vital that proper safety procedures are set in place to ensure all participants enjoy the activity and are safe.

We set up the inflatable for you, our experience staff are used to doing this and have many years of experience on doing so, and will make sure it is safe and clean and you are happy before they leave. All that remains is for you to follow all the safety precautions for the entire duration of the time the inflatable is being used and outlining the rules and responsible adult supervising at all time will keep everything in place. It is up to you to make sure you have a great safe day, offering hours of fun, enjoyed by all.

Any abuse to any staff your order will be cancelled.

If you are not happy on set up, please tell the delivery Manager setting up your inflatable.

Please make sure you put in the correct delivery area to match your postcode. You will be charged maximum delivery charge on set up or your booking cancelled.

We do not send you any spam marketing or junk emails, you will receive a confirmation email on your booking, please make sure you check your spam/junk folder.

Weather Assurance 🌦️

Weather can be unpredictable, but that shouldn't spoil your fun! If the day of your hire brings light rain, our inflatables can still be enjoyed with a bit of extra care, towels and supervision. However, in case of severe weather conditions, such as heavy rain or high winds, we prioritize safety and may need to cancel the booking. Rest assured, there are no cancellation charges, and we offer the flexibility to cancel or reschedule your hire to a convenient date. 🚀

WEATHER ON THE DAY OF YOUR HIRE

If it is just light rain and you still choose to hire your inflatable, Inflatables are not fully protected from rain, in wet weather, towels are required for feet and base of the inflatable. Extra care and supervision should be taken. We will contact you in heavy rain or wind if we need to cancel. You can cancel your booking on the day, no charge.

In heavy rain or winds, for health and safety reasons we may need to cancel your inflatable, we will contact you on the morning.

Sorry, but for hygiene reasons we do not hire soft play outside in rain, wet damp days sorry. WE WILL CALL YOU ON THE MORNING OF YOUR HIRE IF THERE IS ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE WEATHER.

Hot Weather & Inflatables – Don't Panic! Just Plan.

✅Here are some practical tips to help you keep things running smoothly:

🌲Position Smartly – We will try to Set up the inflatable in shaded areas where possible, or use natural shade (trees, fences, buildings). Avoid direct sun during the peak heat (usually 12–3pm).

🤾‍♂️We Recommend Socks & Coverings – A light pair of socks and thin long-sleeved tops or leggings can help prevent very warm surfaces from contacting skin directly.

💦 Don’t Use Water to Cool the inflatable – it can make surfaces even warmer by acting like a magnifying glass.

🥤 Hydration & Sun cream Are a Must – Common sense still rules: plenty of fluids, regular shade breaks, and sunscreen top-ups for everyone.

❌ Cancelling events? Not necessary. Just take precautions, keep an eye on kids, and you’ll be absolutely fine.
